Another huge thank you to the volunteers from Intergated Project Management who totally assumed the cooking and serving duties, and our Encino NC volunteers. Tremendous support was provided by Council District 4 - the event would not have happened without their help. Uncle Bernie's Restaurant and Lusy's Mediterranean Cafe donated food. Valerie Berkley from Assemblyman Gabriel's office was there with crayons, Fire Safety coloring books and certificates for the sponsors. The Encino Chamber of Commerce helped with publicity. Last but not least, the LAFD provided tables, chairs, and a lot of firefighters to meet and greet the neighbors! The event was held to reaise awareness or our community Fire Station and to commemorate the installation of the drought-resistant pollinator garden which was funded by the San Fernando Valley Audubon Society and the ENC. Look for more upcoming Station 83 Open House events - hopefully with more temperate weather.
